Perpetrators
The three main perpetrators of the Bosnian Genocide/War are Radovan Karadzic, General Ratko Mladic, and Slobodan Milosevic. These three men had a common goal unite all of the Serbian people under one nation and to "ethnically cleanse" the former Yugoslavian nations of Muslims. They did whatever it took to "cleanse" the nation of Bosnia of all Muslims.
-Went against the Bosniak president Alija Izetbegovic and the vote for Bosnia's independence.
-Began "ethnic cleansing" process after Bosnia's recognition with the siege of Sarajevo and a mass evacuation (BBC,2014).
-separated men and women (around 8,000 killed)
-exploded bomb in Sarajevo and captured the city of Zepa in the same month
-waged a 44 month siege on the capital city of Sarajevo (Ratko,2004).
-Died before his war crimes trial ended in The Hague, Netherlands (Slobodan,2010).
Goals
These were the two goals that were giving the perpetrators their motivation to do what they committed.
-Much like genocide tactics to kill to exterminate a group of people (Cohen,2011).
-Join the Greater Serbia in the Balkans
Tactics
(First two points were the most widely used tactics)
